The MOST unbelievable, shitty week EVER!

I cannot believe what has actually happened yet! My dear Grandad passed away this last Sunday and 4 days later my father-in-law passed away. I feel so numb. I'm at the point where I can't feel anything and I'm just walking around like a zombie. The day we buried my Grandad was the day Dad died. God it is just too much. Maybe God's trying to tell me something... Wake up and smell the coffee Heather! I don't know. All I do know is I feel like laying down and not getting up for a long time. I guess one of the many great things about being a mom is you are forced to get up and get on with it. My children would never let me slouch, that's for sure.

Well, we got a nice snow the other night. This was on Sunday. We had planned to cook out with my in-laws and it snowed. we cooked out anyway. We are die-hards. I just think this is such a cute picture of my hubby! Posted by Picasa

Birthday boy!!!

Oh. My. God! I cannot believe that li'l Mr. C is a year old! It just makes me wanna cry! This year has gone too fast. We had a small celebration at Granny and Papa's house. The big guy even had his own cake! I think he just looks so sublimely happy in this picture...HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY SWEET LITTLE MAN! I love you so much! Words just cannot express...

Ahh the innocence of children!

Well, the other day I was waiting for my daughter to get out of school and the intermediate school was let out. They get out earlier than the elementary school. Anyhoo, a little boy came walking in the direction of my car. He was just so sweet, walking along with his arms out like an airplane or bird, without a care in the world. He had a fanciful look on his face and seemed to singing some secret song to himself. That just got me to thinking how great it can be to be a kid. Not caring that a hundred cars are zipping by and having your arms out and flapping them up and down wildly. If I was to do that I would surely be turned over to the nutty farm. Sometimes, I miss being a kid but then I remember how much it sucked, too. I would not want to do it over again! I was always the fat kid and was teased relentlessly. Well, that is certainly a depressing memory. I look at my kids and thank goodness they still have innocence in them. At my daughter's age, I knew too much about too much and I'm glad she still has no clue about a lot of things. It's like when you find out about Santa and the Tooth Fairy, you just can't get that thrill back again. That hot tingle in the pit of your stomach that sends silvery shards all through your nervous system when you see the shiny new toys or a crisp dollar bill under your pillow. Hmmmm. It's the end of innocence. Growing up can really suck, too.

Addicted

Hello, my name is heather m and I am addicted to Craftster.

I have been going to this forum for just a few days now and I can't stop myself! It has so much amazing info you just wouldn't believe it. I have gotten tons of inspiration from it! I think my head might pop with all the projects I have in mind. I think I'd like to do some handmade things for Christmas gifts this year(inspiration from the site). Now I just need to sit down and organize my thoughts, which is not an easy feat for me. I'm very scatterbrained, just ask my husband.

Well, I really need to get off the computer and do some housework, yuck!

Catch ya on the flipside!

Lameoid

Well, I win the Lameoid Award of the Year. I am not a good journalist. I don't think I will ever be good at it. I remember starting a journal when me first child was born. I was gonna write down all of her accomplishments and all the cute stuff she did...phthbbb! I got lke to her 1s week and that was it! Can you believe that. I can. Ask my husband. He'll say "oh yeah" ! I started in on the same journal after Mr. C was born and have been much more faithfull. It's actually up to date. Anyway, as much as I look at this here computer you'd think I be here everyday! But, ooohhh no! Aw well.

Anyhoo... C's little sweater has been finished for awhile. I mst say it is uber cute! He looks so handsome in it. It has a few mistakes and I know I didn't seam it up correctly but who gives a fuck! Really! The FMM wants a teddy that is all dressd up. Maybe for Christmas.

I have become addicted to the crack that is
Craftster. I can get on there and go through all the forums and then it has been like 2 hours! It sucks you in and there is no way out...It's like a big black hole of craft. But it's sooo gooood. I was thinking about screen printing and didn't know much and you type it in and *POOF!* all the info you need. And I don't think I'll be doing that anytime soon. I didn't realize how much goes into it. Especially the cost... Whew! It's still cool though and maybe someday.

Sweater progress!!

I can't believe it...I actually finished the back and left front of Mr. C's sweater! I am starting on the right front now. Should be done this weekend. My Grandma would be so proud. I don't know if she ever knits clothing. Washcloths and crocheted blankies yes, but I think maybe she made me and my sister some sweater vests when we were kids. Oh yeah you know the ones. If you were alive in the 80's you remember the Sweater Vest! V-neck and maybe some stripes...

Oh the horror. At least when the 80's styles came back it was more the Madonna style than Grandma's knitted vest style. Oh yeah I KNOW you remember!

On another note: I am just wondering why I am so stupid that I can't get My blog to look as cool as other peoples. I mean, I tried to list the sites I like to check out on a regular basis and so I go to the Blogger Knowledge page and follow the steps and it never works! I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong! I need to take a friggin' computer course just to figure this shit out! I need to learn how to link to other sites, too. I'm just lost. Also I know no one else but me is reading this so I won't have any fellow friendly blogger say "Hey Heather here's how it goes". Oh well, I'm a retard.

Sweater pics as promised

Well, here is a picture of the sweater I'm working on for Mr. C such as it is. It was a free pattern from Lion Brand website. It's a cardi that you knit back to front in one piece to the neck and then continue on with LS and come back and finish RS. It's a little sloppy, yes. But hey this is my first attempt dammit. The Fabulous Miss M will want something next. Lion has a new bolero pattern that I think would be cute and should be long enough on her to be more of a cardi. I have to get started on Halloween first.

Lookie...he fell asleep while I was cooking dinner.I guess I need to add a little zest to my cooking or something. Apparently I'm not very interesting to watch. Posted by Picasa

I think this is so cool...Conner loves Dave Matthews almost as much as I do. He actually dances whenever we watch this concert DVD. To Gene's chagrin. Mmwhahaha Posted by Picasa

Bounty of harvest

The pics below are from this spring when our apple tree was blooming and then this month with all the beeoootiful apples we picked. I don't know how many we got but it was a lot! I made apple crisp and pie and they were oh-so-yummy!!! This was our first harvest in the 4 years we have lived here. In '03 we had a tree full but the major hail storm knocked them all off. I was so sad! But, these are the best for cooking...very tart and crisp. My fave.

I have been in a crafty mood lately...well, knitty mood I should say. Been working on a little sweater for Mr. Conner. It's my first and I must say it is not too bad! I have been totally on gauge the whole time! I am soooo proud of myself... will post pics later... I have to get started on Meghan's costume. She's going to be Sailor Moon! I spent an un-Godly amount of money for a pattern on ebay but it should be cool. And hopefully no other litttle girls want to be Sailor Moon!
I cannot fo rthe life of me figure out what to make for Conner. He's walking so I cant do the cute little peapod thingys. He won't leave anything on his head so hats are out. Hmmm....crap.

Well, I totally need to go to bed. It's 2 AM! Jeez! Good tomorrow is Saturday. Conner just got up for a little snack (no he does not sleep through the night yet. He still has to get a little tittie in the middle of the night, thank you very much) so maybe I can get a coupl'a hours in before he wants another snack...we'll see. Now. Must. Shut. The. Hell. Up!

Nite nite all!

what is wrong with me?

I swear I am so terrible at journalizing. Conner is only 10 months and walking now. I crocheted him a teddy using a pattern from the Lion Brand website. I used some old worsted brown yarn in my stash that I received from an elderly friend. It turned out so cute and Conner kisses his snout all the time. I would say he digs it...Meghan wants one know. In pink, of course.

OMG has it been 2 months!?!

Good lord almighty I can't believe it has been two friggin' months since may last post. Bad blogger! Well with Meghan out of school for the summer I think all I have time to do is argue with her and do laundry. She changes her clothes like everytime she gets done swimming and even though the clothes aren't dirty you can bet your bippy that they end up on the floor or in the dirty clothes basket. I hate doing laundry! It takes me forever and when I think I'm done there's another pile awaiting me.

On a happier note...Conner is trying to crawl. He gets his little legs up under him and moves them back and forth. He just hasn't figured out how to move his hands yet. He does this inchworm thing though where he get up on all fours then makes his arms go out from under him then does it again and again and he actually get places. Oh fuck...gonna hafta babyproof. Shit. My house is still a mess by the way. We need a dump truck to stop by.

On a crafty note I knitted my first washcloth. I love it. Not much else though other than tendin' to the little 'uns. Well, crap I have to go do some more fucking laundry!

On the homefront...

Well, not a damn thing is going on "on the homefront" other than my house is a mess and we think Conner is teething. He has been getting up 4 times at night for the past couple of weeks. So needless to say I'm exhausted and pretty much walk around like a zombie during the day. Hence, the messy house.

We are going to get some paint, hopefully, this weekend for the trim outside. It is in much needed repair. Also we are wanting to re-do the kitchen in kind of a fifties diner style. Going to go check out the antique mall and see what they have in the way of decor. Would love to get one of those old metal table and chairs to match like an old soda shop or sumthin'. I'm going to make some curtains out of that cute vintage look fabric I've been seeing everywhere. Want to get some that has pin-up girls or somethin' like that.

Finished the ponco...

Well, I finished my latest poncho and it is really cute and super bright! I'm working on some monster feet boots for my nephews. The pattern is soooo cute I just couldn't resist. I got it off the internet for free...something that I am all about. I need to start o some baby blankets. I have several friends that have either just had a baby or are due soon. Well, while Conner is asleep I better go get a shower!

out of yarn...CRAP!!!

Well, I ran out of yarn for Meghan's poncho, DAMMIT! I just bought the yarn on a whim and really didn't have the pattern in mind before I bought. Oh well, I will know better next time. Like I said before, I am an idiot...

The DOG

This is our dog Rocky...Well, we are is humans. He's the only dog in the world that lifts his hind leg to take a crap... But he is sweet and fearless(most of the time) A cat got in our backyard the other night and I think a war was waged by the sound of it. Rocky only came out of it with a scratch on his side. I have no idea what happened to the cat, but at least there was no kitty corpse in our yard the next day. He likes to bark...at everything and everyone. Did I mention he lifts his hind leg to crap? It is the funniest thing you ever did see! He is unique... Posted by Hello

I'm an idiot...

Why don't I ever look to see if yarn has a dye lot? The Bikini pink yarn has one and boy are they different! oh well, I'm to poor to get all new yarn. Meghan's poncho will be sort of colorblocked I guess. Note to self: check for DYE LOTS YOU STUPID IDIOT!!! I have started knitting a wash cloth too and it is going pretty well. I knit too tight but otherwise it looks good.

On another note why do we have to continually pass around colds. Meghan had one, gave it to me, then Conner, now me again and Conner at the same time and Meghan is still coughing like a 30 year smoker! I think we are goin to stay home fo rEaster though. That'll be nice. Gas is to friggin' expensive anyway.

Well, I have to go catch up on laundry...yuck

Very sharp pic and lots of cool features for the price. It was like $179.00! Now we need a printer! That might be awhile... maybe Mother's Day! Hehehe...

New camera on its way!

Yippee! My new camera is on its way. I ordered it from good ol' newegg.com yesterday and it shipped yesterday! How friggin' cool is that. I cannot wait. I also ordered some knitting books... Stitch n' Bitch (I have heard so many good things about this book!), Knitting for Dummies, and one on spinning. I have always been intrigued by spinning. It always seemed like such a magical thing to me. I'd like to get the basics and go from there. I have so many things I want to do right now, I just don't know if I have the time it deserves.

Shop till you drop

Well, had a good time visiting my Mom and Dad. It was Dad's B-day on Sun. so we took him out to eat on Sat. Went to Hobby Lobby and bought a bunch of yarn. I got some crochet thread and I'm gonna try that...hmm. Got Meghan's poncho almost finished. Just need ot make the pom-poms. I'm going to start on the other one with the Bright and Lofty yarn (Bikini pink). I found a super cute teddy pattern at Lion Brand yarn website. I have got to make one for Conner! I want to make myself a poncho for this spring, too. I found some really pretty blue yarn and it is super soft. I'll make it kinda airy. Oooo can't wait.
I also printed off some cloth diaper patterns. I'd like to make some covers, too. I am trying to use cloth more often. I just have been feeling so bad for throwing all those disposibles away. I can't believe all the trash they generate! Never even thought about it the first time around. Of course I was young and dumb at the time! I'm working on being a greener mom. Yeaah...Go me!

The Big "2-9"

Well today is the big "29". The last year of my 20's. I feel old...and I sound pitiful. oh well, get over it!!! Going to get some more knitting needles with my B-day money. Going to go to Wichita this weekend. I am going to get a Digital camera for my present. Mom is off so she'll come, too. They live in Pratt and we can use their "Bed and Breakfast" (as Mom calls it). Gotta go to Sam's for stuff. Wanna go to Michael's or someplace like that to look at yarn and of course FABRIC! I am a true fabric ho. Gene says I have more fabric than a Ben Franklin's. It is absolutely true, thank you very much.

School Carnivals are cool

Had Meghan's school carnival last night and actually had fun. I volunteered to help with her class' booth, the Pop Pyramid. Got to see lots of people we don't get to see very often which was nice. Her Room-mother got some boy scouts to help with the booth so we sat on our butts most of the time and chatted, which was cool. Conner did pretty good. He was a good sport about letting strange people hold him.
Worked a little more on Meghan's poncho but we have to clean house today 'cause Gene's Mom and Dad are coming over for dinner. My B-day is on Tues. so we are celebrating early. Whoo-hoo. I'm down to my last "20 something" so I'm a little depressed. More than I thought I would be. Oh well, age is only a number and I act like I'm 12 most of the time anyway.

Muffett? What the hay?

Well, yes, as in Little Miss Muffet. That was my nickname as a child and...I hated it. But, when trying to come up with a name for my blog ( I always have a hard time thinking of names for stuff like this) it popped into my head and I guess someone else was tormented as a child and has decided to use it for there blog name, so I shortened it to muffet and, again, somebody had my idea. I added an extra "t" and there you have it!

I think this is such a neat idea (blogging) and I have always been meaning to start a journal. I have no clue how to run this thing but I will learn as go.

I have been in a really crafty mood lately. Currently working on a crochted poncho for my girl and it is going to be way to big for her. I found a better pattern on the net for girls and got some cool pink yarn from Wallyworld. I think she'll love it way better anyway. I'm also teaching myself how to knit and it is really fun, I must say! My grandma sent me a pattern for her washclothes that everyone in my family covets. She makes them every year for her Christmas grab bags and we all hope to get one

Also, trying my hand at quilting. Made my first quilt top last week ansd it was so sorry. My husband said it was pretty good for my first one. I tried another with the leftovers of the first and it was much better. I'm used to making clothes so it's a bit new to me. Wish me luck on all my adventures!
