Fall Sewing

Fall has to be one of my favorite times of the year! I love the crisp air. I love taking the kids to the pumpkin patch. Just the general feeling and smell of Fall. I don't know how to describe it. One other thing is wearing layers! I'm not fortunate enough to have a beach bod so tanks and shorts are not really my thing. Jeans, sweaters, skirts with boots, and long sleeve tees...that's my thing. I just splurged on this pattern from Sew Liberated:
I see this becoming a staple in my wardrobe. The tunics I've seen made from this look really good. I have this cute brown rayon I picked up at the thrift store the other day, 4 yards for $4, that I think will work nicely.

If you've made this, let me know what you think of it!

Fall is the best, isn't it? I haven't tried that pattern, in fact, I've never even heard of the company before, but it looks like it would be a fine layering piece. I'm just kinda warming to the shape of tunics myself. In the past I felt like they made me look "possibly pregnant" but now I realize a lot of it has to do with proper fit.

Although I was born in late fall, I'm really a spring/summer girl myself. I blossom in warm weather and curl up like a caterpillar when its cold. I do love dressing for the fall winter especially if I have just the right clothing combination. I think the tunic you choose has lots of possibilities for fall dressing. I can see it with tight legged jeans or lettings.

Opps, meant to say leggings.

BIJ: That is one of my biggest fears with this one! I have a full tummy and I'm afraid it's gonna make the tunic poof out and make me look preggers. We'll see!

Faye: LOL! I knew what you meant! And thanks for the outfit ideas!

I look forward to seeing the finished product. I haven't made this pattern, but I did make a Sew Liberated apron in the past, and it was wonderful. (a birthday present for my sister) So I have no doubt that your tunic will be lovely. I too have tummy issues, and my last daliance with a tunic, ended in tears! I have high hope for yours though!

I made the shirt version in the spring and I LOVE it! In fact, I just got the pattern back out to make the tunic length this week. I have a very full tummy and I think this lays nicely- It hides the tummy a bit without looking poofy. I can't wait to see yours!
