First Ever GIVEAWAY!

Okay, y'all! As promised I'm going to have a giveaway to commemorate my 5th Blogiversary and my birthday. The Blogiversary is on Feb 26th and my B-Day is Mar 1st!

What are ye gonna get? Well, everything in the above picture! You know my love of underpinnings by now so of course it has to be lingerie themed. It includes a simple muti-sized pattern for a slip, suitable for a beginner. It's a vintage Sew Lovely and has never even been opened. Cool! I also think that you can size it up easily if you need to. Also, enough peach nylon tricot to make the largest size (There is probably enough that you could even make a matching pair of panties! This stuff is like 100"+ wide!) and a selection of stretch lace to adorn your lovely new garment with. I might even throw something a little extra in there. I love surprises, don't you!

Okie dokie, the details are:

1. You must leave a comment here on the blog or email me privately between now and March 1st, 2010. lil-miss-muffett@sbcglobal.net

2. I want you to tell me your most crowning sewing or crafting achievment! If you don't have one tell me something that you've done or has happened to you that is super cool. Anything goes! You shagged Tom Cruise? I wanna know! LOL!

3. The giveaway is open to my international readers too!

That's it! Pretty simple. I'll use one of those random generator thingies to choose the winner and I'll announce it on Tuesday, March 2nd.

Let the games begin!

Congratiolations on both your birthdays and I hope many years will follow!

No Tom Cruise in my bed :-), but I am very proud of my website www.creaBH.nl. I fell in love with lingerie sewing in nov 2006 and want to share my passion with others. Even the Knipmode (the Dutch version of Burda) mentioned my website in their magazine. I hope many more will fall in love as well with this beautiful hobby and make themselves proud to wear their self made bra's & panties!

How fun!! Five years is amazing!

MMM, Tom Cruise... My crafting achievement to date is sewing my own jeans. I was scared to do it for ages, but I'll never go back! Now I just need to conquer lingerie....

WOW! I want to win this badly because I've not yet tackled lingerie or swimwear and I want to.

OK, my crowing sewing achievement came a LONG time ago when I had just learned to sew. I saw an Advanced designer pattern in the Vogue catalog and was determined to make it for my first day of high school.

I made it in a lightweight denim, it was an avant garde skirt and top. I can remember every detail except the designer~! So I can't find the pattern, but I'm constantly on the hunt.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

I'm going to share this giveaway on my blog if you don't mind?

Sure Heather! You all are more than welcome to share it!

Great giveaway! I'd loooove to win this. My most crowning sewing achievement is definitely the red winter coat I made. Every time I put it on, I can't believe I made it myself!

I seriously can't top Tom-Cruise-In-My-Bed (and is it wrong that I am now rapidly running through those who have been in my bed to see if there are any famous people? Ummm... no, there aren't.)

Let's see... OK, this is hardly "super cool", but once Ric Ocasek (of 1980's super pop group The Cars) said to me, "Nice skirt!". I wish I could say that I had made said skirt, but I bought it in Dublin. Still, spontaneous appproving commentary from pop stars married to super models is sort of spirit boosting, dontcha think?

Ooo, forgot to say "Happy Birthday!"

Happy Birthday!!

I partied like a rockstar once with Third Eye Blind...is that hot enough? Okay, crowning sewing achievement??? Made my husband's suit for our first wedding! (I'm more proud of the 3EB party...LOL!)

Happy birthday! I'm so happy to have found your blog! I love it!

I really love making dresses, and I often dabble in drafting my own patterns, but my proudest moment was winning $300 for the Undead Marie Antoinette costume I made by altering a McCalls (don't remember number right now) costume pattern! While it's great that people often don't notice that I'm wearing something upcycled or "handmade," it was really fun to have all the attention paid to something I created!

My crowning achievement at my sewing machine would have to be The Great Swimsuit Experiment. I tried my hand at drafting a vintage style swimsuit for modern 4-way stretch fabric, and I built The Stuffing Contraption with underwires and gel pads to fill out the top. It was a whole heap of "firsts" for a self-taught, kamikaze-style seamstress. The biggest surprise is that it was actually a wearable garment when I finished!

My sewing achievement is small compared to others but I'm very proud nonetheless. I've just begun to sew, two months ago. I couldn't even thread my machine when I started. But thanks to all the great tutorials and blogs I'm teaching myself and my daughter how to sew. We've made a pillow and are now tackling a skirt. YAY for us!! One day I'll have something to post.

Happy Blogiversary and Happy Birthday! I love a contest!!

My crowning sewing achievement is sewing all of my clothes. Starting about 2 years ago, I decided to make all my clothes. Recently, thanks to bloggers like you, I started making my lingerie as well.

Oh yeah, and I partied with Dennis Rodman in Vegas once!

Well there was that time with Brad Pitt...

My most exciting sewing accomplishment is probably the first one: making an aline skirt out of denim. It didn't look that hot at the end, but it proved to me that I could (in a mere 15 hours!) create an item of clothing :-)

Happy Blog Anniversary and Happy Birthday! :) What a lovely giveaway! Hmm... my greatest achievement is making my Amy Butler Madison bag. I loved it... I used it so much it now is worn and has a hole. :)

Hi, Congratulations. I have sewed wearable items for myself in the past, now with two little girls I can't resist sewing for them more than me. My best project was party dresses for them to ware at Christmas. I made them up from scratch as I had no pattern. Two dresses cost me less than the price for one beautiful dress in the shops. They got loads of nice comments. You can see them here http://sewandsoyum.blogspot.com/2010/02/party-dresses-for-christmas.html

Happy birthday and blogday, Heather!

My latest sewing achievement definitely feels like the best so far - I have made a bra that fits really well and is also pretty! I felt terribly anxious while working on it because I had adjusted the pattern and wasn't sure how it would all work out... but it is practically perfect! I am SO HAPPY!!!!

Congrats on your wonderful blog and thanks for the giveaway!

My best sewing achievement was sewing my wedding gown. I read Susan Khalje's Bridal Couture, and sewed for 6 months. Everything I love and hate about sewing is in that gown!

Happy Birthday and Congrats on 5 years of blogging!

Let's see...my crafting achievement I'm most proud of would be sewing swimsuits last summer. I was a little bit intimidated but quickly discovered how easy it is.

Congratulations on both birthdays! And what an amazing giveaway!

Even though I sew a lot I think my most crowning crafting achievment is when I learned to tablet weave (almost on my own). I still feel that wonderful feeling of success when I tackle more advanced projects tofay, such as brocade or advanced turn-patterns.

Sign me up! It would be fun to give that slip a try.

I sewed a really great witch costume for Halloween a number of years ago. I still look at it and wonder how I did it.

My crowing moment will be coming up this summer: I'm sewing my first ever flower girl dress and Ring Bearer suite for my brother's wedding. Prior to that my crowing moment was last easter. I made 3 dresses and 2 pairs of matching ruffle pants for my 3 girls out of 6-7 yards of coordinating fabric. i also made a pair of dress shorts and sport jacket for little man.

I've been sewing a very long time, since I was 9 and I'm 52 now - so I am thinking about a lot of past projects.
I think my favorite were 2 costumes when my youngest 2 were in high school, they went to a mediveal themed valentine banquet. My DD's dress used about 20 yards of lavendar satin with a huge trailing skirt and big puffy sleeves

Happy Birthday!

I would have to say my proudest moment was last Fall when I won 1st prize at the State Fair for a pair of plaid pants with pintucked ankles that I made for my niece. It was one of my favorite projects (as well as a ruffled skirt I made her for Halloween last year as well)!

I'm still fairly new to sewing, so I'd say my biggest achievement was finally understanding to insert a zipper into my skirt. Hopefully there will be more epic things to come. Happy Birthday!
